Thaddeus Ma Daqin
- ... that the Catholic Bishop Ma Daqin of Shanghai has been held under house arrest by the Chinese Government since 2012?

After reducing redundancy (and its still questionable) the article is too short for DYK. Since it relied on a 200+ byte quote from BBC, it wasn't long enough before the edit either. Hopefully a source with more information about Ma can be found - right now the article basically says "he was appointed bishop, left the Chinese association, and was arrested because of it." --ThaddeusB (talk) 19:02, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you. It is my pleasure to say this awesomely named individual now meets all requires - length, date, and compliance with policy have been verified. Suggested fact is interesting and properly cited. One minor point, I believe the fact should read:
- ALT1: ... that the Catholic bishop of Shanghai, Thaddeus Ma Daqin, has been held under house arrest by the Chinese Government since 2012?
- as bishop here is a descriptor, not a title. Compare: "the president of the United States, Barrack Obama, ..." vs. "President Obama..."; saying "the US President Obama..." would be quite strange. (Also, "Chinese Communist Party" shouldn't be piped to "Chinese Government".) --ThaddeusB (talk) 02:56, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
