Nuvola apps arts.png External audio

Purpose

If an audio is available online, but cannot be uploaded to Wikipedia, it may be appropriate to use {{externalaudio}} to provide a direct link to the audio of sufficient quality and a (referenced) description of what can be heard.

{{externalaudio}} should be removed as soon as an adequate (it is not adequate if the audio in commons is not of sufficient quality) audio is available in commons.

{{externalaudio}} can be used multiple times in an article, and each implementation of {{externalaudio}} can be used to link to more than one audio.

Usage

{{externalaudio

|align = {{{1}}}

|width = {{{2}}}

|audio1 = [ {{{3}}} {{{4}}} ] <ref> {{{5}}} </ref>

|audio2 = ...

}}

Legend:

{{{1}}} = left / right / center

{{{2}}} = number(standard=300) px

{{{3}}} = URL of the audio (direct link download the audio, not to the page if possible)

{{{4}}} = description of the audio

{{{5}}} = link to the page where the audio is from + date when this link was created

Please look at War against Nabis to see an implementation of {{externalimage}}.

Other templates for linking external media

There is a family of three templates to link external media: {{externalimage}}, {{externalvideo}} and {{externalaudio}}
