Template:FAA-procedures/doc
| 40px | This is a documentation subpage for Template:FAA-procedures. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template is used to generate an external link to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) terminal procedures for a specific airport. These URLs change every 28 days, so by using a template they can be updated in one place rather than editing multiple articles.
Parameters
The template accepts a single unnamed parameter containing the airport's FAA location identifier.
Example
For Blairstown Airport (1N7):
- Usage:
{{FAA-procedures|1N7}} - Result: FAA Terminal Procedures for 1N7, effective Error: Invalid time.
Technical information
The terminal procedures are part of the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) which is updated on a 28-day cycle as per the ICAO. For the FAA's Digital Terminal Procedures/Airport Diagram, this causes a change in the URL involving four numbers: the first two represent the year (07 for 2007) and the second two represent the current cycle (01 through 13). This template should be updated before the effective date for each new cycle. The following is a list of changes required in 2008:
- 0903 - Effective 12 MAR 2009 to 09 APR 2009
- 0904 - Effective 09 APR 2009 to 07 MAY 2009
- 0905 - Effective 07 MAY 2009 to 04 JUN 2009
- 0906 - Effective 04 JUN 2009 to 02 JUL 2009
- 0907 - Effective 02 JUL 2009 to 30 JUL 2009
- 0908 - Effective 30 JUL 2009 to 27 AUG 2009
- 0909 - Effective 27 AUG 2009 to 24 SEP 2009
- 0910 - Effective 24 SEP 2009 to 22 OCT 2009
- 0911 - Effective 22 OCT 2009 to 19 NOV 2009
- 0912 - Effective 19 NOV 2009 to 17 DEC 2009
- 0913 - Effective 17 DEC 2009 to 14 JAN 2010
