Here, we determine which articles become Wikipedia:Featured articles, exemplars of Wikipedia's very best work, by determining if a Featured article candidate meets the criteria for featured articles. Anyone can nominate a Featured Article Candidate (FAC). Prior to nominating a FAC, you should consider listing it at Wikipedia:Peer review to obtain broader feedback from experienced editors. You should also review the criteria for featured articles and confirm that the candidate article contains references and has an appropriate introduction. Nominators are expected to make a good-faith effort to address objections that may be raised in discussion. If the FAC's nominator is also one of the article's editors, the FAC should be marked as a self-nomination. Please do not nominate more than one article at a time, as this makes it difficult to do each article and its objections justice. Consensus must be reached for an article to be promoted to featured article status. If enough time passes without objections being resolved, nominations will be removed from the candidates list and archived. |
