Usage

Add this template to the top of the talk page associated with the page that is linked from a high traffic site.

Use the syntax {{high traffic|date=|site=|url=|small=}} where

  • date is the date on which you added this template to the talk page, e.g. date=16 April 2026.
  • url is the URL (including the http:// prefix) of the originating site, preferably link the particular page that links wikipedia, i.e. is going to hit this article heavily, e.g. http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/06/17/183242.
  • site is the simple description of the website, e.g. Slashdot.
  • small if set to yes, makes a small version of this template

Example use:

{{high traffic|date=16 April 2026|url=http://www.digg.com/|site=Digg}}

By default, the template will link to the page associated with the talk page. If the talk page itself is linked from a high traffic site, add page=talk. If both the talk page and its associated page are linked from a high traffic site, add page=both. Pages this template is used on are placed into Category:Articles linked from high traffic sites.
