Usage
This template formats IPA transcriptions and links them to Help:IPA/Italian dialects. The transcription should match the conventions of that key.
The first cell in the template is for the transcription, and a second optional cell is a switch that controls the lede. With no second value, the lead Italian dialectal pronunciation: appears:
{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma}}→ Italian dialectal pronunciation: [ˈroːma]{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|pron}}→ pronounced [ˈroːma]{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|lang}}→ locally [ˈroːma]{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|tusc}}→ Tuscan pronunciation: [ˈroːma]{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|rome}}→ Romanesco pronunciation: [ˈroːma]{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|local}}→ locally [ˈroːma]{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|IPA}}→ IPA: [ˈroːma]{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|}}→ [ˈroːma]
Any of these may be combined with a sound file in an optional third cell:
{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|IPA|Roma.ogg}}→ IPA: [ˈroːma] (Audio file "Roma.ogg " not found)
For the default lead, however, a placeholder such as ‹-› is required in the second cell:
{{IPA-itdia|ˈroːma|-|Roma.ogg}}→ Italian dialectal pronunciation: [ˈroːma] (Audio file "Roma.ogg " not found)
