Background

This template is used to mark articles that are better in a foreign-language Wikipedia than in English Wikipedia, and thus should be translated from that language into English.

Usage

To mark an article, tag it with {{Translate|language}}.

For example, {{Translate|German}} generates:

User:Calliopejen1/Expand language sandbox A bot will be along shortly to add the correct interwiki link to the template, which will also add a Google translation link if Google is able to translate the relevant language. If you'd like to speed the process up, you can tag the article with {{Translate|language|article=articletitle}} instead. After the article parameter is added, the template will look like:

User:Calliopejen1/Expand language sandbox This template places articles in the relevant subcategory of Category:Articles needing translation from foreign-language Wikipedias.

Optional parameters

Foreign language featured articles can be marked using fa=yes, as in {{Expand French|fa=yes}}.
