Usage
Overview
- name is the name of the railway station in the Italian language.
- image an appropriate image of the station, not just a generic image of the railway. Only necessary to put in the image name, no size, brackets or image: necessary.
- caption caption below the image.
Location
- locale is the address of the station - the suggested form is as follows: street or piazza name, street number (if known)<br>postcode, locality.
- municipality is the comune the station is in. Wikilink.
- province is the province, if any, that includes the comune (not all regions have provinces). Wikilink.
- region is the region that includes the comune. Wikilink.
- line is the name of the lines the station is on. If more than one, separate with <br>. Wikilink.
- distance from the start of the line. Don't wikilink.
- elevation in meters above sea level of the station. Don't wikilink.
- coordinates of station. The suggested standard format displays degrees, minutes and seconds of arc with sufficient precision, and displays both inline and title. The two asterisks in the suggested format must be replaced by the official ISO 3166-2 two digit code for the relevant region or province. There is a list of these codes in ISO 3166-2:IT. For further information about coordinates, see {{coord}}.
Other information
- opened is the year or date the station opened. Use {{Start date}}; the suggested format displays the day before the month.
- architect is the architect who designed the building. Wikilink if notable.
- electrified is the year or date the station was electrified, if not already electrified at opening. Use {{Start date}}.
- rebuilt is the year or date the station last received a rebuild. Use {{Start date}}.
- closed is the year or date the station became disused. Use {{Start date}}.
- platforms number of platforms in use. Don't wikilink.
- owner is the owner/operator of the station itself (usually Rete Ferroviaria Italiana). Wikilink.
- manager is the manager of the station if different from the owner. At medium sized stations, usually Centostazioni. At large stations, usually Grandi Stazioni. Wikilink
- operator are the companies that operate rail services to the station, if multiple, separate with <br>. Wikilink.
- iata is the IATA airport code of the station, if any (see List of IATA-indexed railway stations). Don't wikilink.
- classification is one of Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze according to RFI. (See Railway stations in Italy#Classification.)
Services
- services are square icons depicting the various services available to users of the station. Such icons are commonly included in the main body text of Italian Wikipedia articles about Italian railway stations. The "services" option of this infobox now allows you to put similar icons into an infobox. If you choose to use this option, use <!-- and --> to disable any icons not presently applicable to the station you are describing. (If that station is later altered to include a service referred to in a disabled icon, then that icon can very easily be put on display simply by removing the <!-- and --> tags.) If you choose not to use this option, then, for similar reasons, use <!-- and --> tags to disable the whole option.
Connections
- airport the name of any adjacent airports (only if station is at the terminal). Wikilink.
- metro the name of any Metropolitana network served by the station. Wikilink.
- tram list tram connection possibilities, for stations with few lines list tram line numbers and destinations. Wikilink to any relevant tram network article.
- bus list bus connection possibilities, for stations with few lines list bus line numbers and destinations.
- ship list connecting ferry routes.
Map
- location map allows you to depict the station location using a small automatically generated red dot, on a background of a "pushpin" style map of Italy. If you choose this option, insert the station's name in Italian next to both "| label=" and "|alt=", and also insert the station's latitude and longitude coordinates where shown. If you choose not to use this option, use <!-- and --> tags to disable it.
- map locator is an alternative map option allowing the inclusion of a different map from the pushpin map, but without the red dot. Under this option, it is only necessary to put in the map name (ie the name of the map as it appears at the top of the relevant Wikimedia commons page). No size, brackets or "image:" are necessary. (If you choose this option, use <!-- and --> to disable the whole of the location map option. If you choose not to use this option, just leave it blank.)
- map loc cap allows inclusion of a caption below the alternative map. (A caption is not required for the pushpin map option, which automatically generates its own caption.)
