Template:Initiated
<span style="color: #Expression error: Unexpected < operator.;" class="wpRfC _rfc">(Initiated Template:Time ago on 11 September 2025)
Usage
This template adds some color coding to requests on WP:ANRFC that allows a closer to quickly see which ones have been waiting the longest for a close.
{{Initiated|DATE|type=|done=}}
Replace DATE
with the day the discussion was initiated in "DAY MONTH YEAR" format with the month as a word (example: 22 January 2014).
Set the type by filling in the |type=
parameter with the discussion type's code (which will be automatically normalized to lowercase letters). Valid values are: afd; block; cfd; drv; ffd; mfd; mrv; rfa; rfc; rfd; rm; rmv; tban; tfd; xfd.[clarification needed] If another value is used, or this parameter is left blank, it defaults to rfc.
It color codes into three categories:
- If the request was initiated less than 30 (7 for XfD, 3 for Topic Ban requests) days ago, the template text will display in blue.
- If the request was initiated 31 to 60 (8 to 21 for XfD, 3 to 7 for Topic Ban requests) days ago, the template text will display in green.
- If the request was initiated more than 60 (21 for XfD, 7 for Topic Ban requests) days ago, the template text will display in red.
In addition to the visual colorings, requests more than 60 (21 for XfD/xRv, 7 for Topic Ban requests) days old will also add non-"archive" pages the template is used on to Category:Administrative backlog.
You can also use this to mention previous discussions by using the |from=
parameter which will prevent coloring and categorization but will use the same styling.
When requests are completed, please mark them with |done=yes
to remove the formatting and disable the categorization.
