| This is a documentation subpage for Template:Legislatures of the Americas. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
- Use this navbox on any of the country pages that are linked within it. Note that some countries in the master navbox below may be in red and not included yet in the "live" navbox. These countries have been commented out of the live navbox. Those redlinked countries may need articles written for their legislative bodies if and when those bodies exist. If you'd like to help, and you have not written your first article yet, you might find some useful tips at Wikipedia:Writing your first article and Wikipedia:Writing better articles.
- When a new article becomes available, and you want to add it to this navbox, just go to the "edit" page and remove the comment tags (the
<!--and-->tags) from around the country. Be sure to use a pipe (|) symbol to add the name of your new article to the list in the same manner as the other entries. Replace any text before the pipe symbol with the name of your new article.
- In the case of this navbox, there were several different names for the various legislative bodies, so a more generalized navbox could not be used. Redirects would have worked, however when redirects are used in navboxes, the links do not appear blackened and bold when the navbox is used on a linked-article page.
- When nested with other navboxes, this template will remain expanded in "show mode" when the
state=parameter is used in the following manner:
{{Legislatures of the Americas|state=expand}}
