link risk is for displaying URLs that are potentially security or malware risks. Typically this would occur if a browser warns of security or malware risk on the URL, or if the URL or its domain was reported as a potential risk.
Usage
{{link risk|http://example.com}}
- produces:
http://example-com[potential badlink]
It creates 3-levels of protection. The link is non-active; the domain is modified to make cut and paste troublesome; the "[potential badlink]" message links to this doc.
Best practices
- If the URL is in a citation template like
{{cite web}}, add an|archive-url=and set|url-status=unfit.
- Example:

- If in a square link add an archive URL directly, unless the archive itself presents a risk:

- If no archive URL can be found, or new archives can't be added due to edit filters / blacklist:
- Replace the link with
