Wikipedians are given Barnstars and other awards in recognition of meritorious service of all kinds. There are a great many awards which recognize articlespace contributions and quite a few to recognize conduct or statesmanship. However, no community can grow without a certain amount of political infrastructure: policies, procedures, processes. Casual readers never see it; editors generally hate it; but it supports all we do.
Building this infrastructure is distinct from routine maintenance of it; the latter is recognized by the WikiMedal for Janitorial Services. It is a difficult job to do at all and still more difficult to do with success: Political infrastructure, however essential, is generally viewed as intrusive and authoritarian, no matter what good ends it serves. Like all major construction, it requires broad vision, attention to detail, and hard work.
The {{Builder Award}}
is given to Wikipedians who have contributed heavily toward the construction or reconstruction of our political infrastructure.
This is an Other award.
Usage
The single, positional parameter is the text of the award (required). You may wish to state your name with a sequence of three tildes and put a datestamp at the end with five tildes.
Example
Code | Result | ||||
{{tls:Builder Award|I, ~~~, do hereby recognize your substantial contribution in bringing [[Wikipedia:Cheeseburger|]] to the status of Policy. ~~~~~}}
