2018 Tallahassee shooting

Created by Jim Michael (talk) and Leaky.Solar (talk). Nominated by Morgan Ginsberg (talk) at 16:11, 5 November 2018 (UTC).

  • Aha, the most recent shooting by an incel. The review is below. This is a hook about the perpetrator, so I shall examine WP:BLPCRIME in this review. Obviously, the perpetrator shot himself dead, and won't be prosecuted. The point of WP:BLPCRIME is to wait for a conviction if someone is accused of a crime (the principle of innocent until proven guilty). However, the perpetrator is dead, and BLP considerations are limited to what the police say. The latest police update I can find is this November 9 update, and it looks like the police are confident that Scott Paul Beierle is the perpetrator here. This may have been obvious before, but the word perpetrator implies some sort of illegal activity, which we have no business WP:CRYSTALBALL-ing if it's not confirmed by the police. The investigation seems to be ongoing, but it's not focused on finding the suspect anymore. wumbolo ^^^ 13:17, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

Lua error: expandTemplate: template "y" does not exist.

I'm not a fan of centering the perpetrator in attacks like this. The incel communities are known for heroizing attackers such as this (and have already done so with Beierle), we should not encourage them. GorillaWarfare (talk) 22:58, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
That's why his name is not included. wumbolo ^^^ 08:04, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
