- Template:Re Welcome to DYK. Just a few tips of advice: you need to bold the article title and link it, like this: Eugene C. Barker. The DYK hook does not have to copy the sentence(s) in the article word-for-word. And the hook must be a single sentence, below 200 characters and must end in a question mark. Finally, no quotes are required around a proposed hook. The full list of hook rules are at WP:DYKHOOK.
- Based on this, ALT1 and ALT2 are far too long, so I've crossed them out. I've written ALT3 as an example only; there are still some things that need to be clarified, e.g. who Stephen F. Austin is. epicgenius (talk) 13:53, 13 February 2020 (UTC)
