Hounslow West tube station

  • ... that Winston Churchill travelled by train to Hounslow West station, which was near Cavalry Barracks? "I was able to live at home with my mother and go down to Hounslow Barracks two or three times a week by the Underground Railway." Link of the book is here: [1]

  • A new hook may be needed here as international readers may not be familiar with the significance of Cavalry Barracks. Perhaps just focus on the Churchill angle? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:33, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
Sure, no problem! VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 12:44, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Why is it noteworthy that Churchill used the subway to get to a military barracks? I don't get it. (t · c) buidhe 13:31, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
  • ALT1: ... that Hounslow West tube station is the only station on the London Underground to be step-free for wheelchair users only?
  • I am currently quite full on hands so I'll just place in an alternative. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 16:31, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

No problem, thank you for the review my friend. I am surely and certainly able to provide the handy tube map as a reference for that. Just give me a moment as I am still full of hands :D VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 07:39, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I await your update. Storye book (talk) 11:56, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you. Please could you now let me know where on the tube map citation is the confirmation of the "the only" wording in the hook? I have looked but cannot find it. Storye book (talk) 14:52, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Template:Ping On the top right hand corner, it's one of the marked stations on the tube map. "Hounslow West - Step-free access for manual wheelchairs only." It's the only one mentioned this way hence it's the only one. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 16:59, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

I see, it's because of the stairlift which can only be used by manual wheelchairs? So we need an ALT2 which is identical to ALT1, but has the added word, "manual." Would you agree with that? Storye book (talk) 17:24, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Template:Ping Thank you. Please check ALT1a above, and if it is OK with you, I'll sign this nomination off. Storye book (talk) 19:16, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
