- ... that Apollo flight director Pete Frank (pictured) was a finalist for NASA Astronaut Group 5? Shayler, David (2017). The last of NASA's original pilot astronauts : expanding the space frontier in the late sixties. Cham: Springer-Praxis Books. pp. 76–78. p. 76 begins the section "The Twenty-Five Unsuccessful Group 5 Applicants", and Frank's bio is within that on p. 78.
